It was the (first) summer of the pandemic, and everyone was thrilled that at least outdoor places had opened again. The go-to spot that summer was called “The Lot.” It was just as the name suggests, an Arlington parking lot turned outdoor bar and hangout spot…and it had a line down the sidewalk every weekend. That Saturday, Ryan’s best man, Jordan, convinced him to meet up with some friends at The Lot. Meanwhile, I was going to The Lot with my friend Melissa, who, unbeknownst, had a mutual friend with Jordan. When we walked in, I remember scanning the picnic tables to see who might be there, and it was love at first sight…with Remy! Ryan had brought his goldendoodle, Remy, and I completely fell in love. Don’t worry, I fell in love with Ryan soon after.
Since that night at The Lot, Ryan and I spent many days boating on the Potomac River, trying different local restaurants, and quarantining together with COVID. Ryan sold his DC condo and bought a townhouse in Arlington (which is now our home!) and both Ryan and I started new jobs. We went offshore fishing in the Outer Banks, skiing in Breckinridge, and relaxing in Miami and Key West. Ryan brought me to his hometowns in Kentucky and South Carolina, and I showed him my hometown in Connecticut. Then in October 2022, we went on the best trip of all - Amsterdam and Paris. Ryan surprised me with the most amazing proposal on a canal boat in Amsterdam!
We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with everyone and can’t wait to see you in November!
